May 4th to 6th: Weekend Workshop in Shelburne.
We will be covering things like correct clothing, fabric, ettiquette/manners/deportment, womens interests, men's interests, cooking/authentic receipts/ingredients, theatrical opportunities, military etc. It will involve a group session Friday May 4th and include some portion of Sunday. We are trying to billet people with our members and am looking into the possibility of having good deals in local accommodations for those who wish to do that. Lunches are included as well as nutrition breaks. There might be a small per person fee to help us offset the catering of lunches/materials and gas cpns but we are trying to avoid that:)

This is passed along to all re-enactment groups: An invitation to join the Privateer Days Encampment in Fort Point Lighthouse Park, Liverpool. Once again this year we are hoping to give the groups attending grocery store cards to help off set some of the cost of attending.

July 13th - 15th 2012
Fort Edward in Windsor.
For more information, contact Vicki at: [email protected].
I got an email today from Carole Peterson, who works at Haliburton House in Windsor. I was speaking to her a couple of weeks ago when I visited there. She says the staff there would be thrilled if we could come visit during the Ft. Edward weekend. They would love to have photos of people in historical clothing roaming the grounds and the house. Free admission for us, and there`s a lot of interesting stuff to see there. The walk is just a shade over 1 km each way from the Fort. If we can get enough of us interested, they will try to get the Hants Journal to come and take pics for the paper. Publicity is always good. Also, Carole has a grandson who has expressed an interest in being a recruit (12 years old, so musician for now). Could you please put this on the website. If we can get some sort of commitment (or just make it part of the schedule for the Windsor event), that would be great. There`s no point in telling Haliburton House to call the Journal if only a handful of us arrive. Go big or go home.

Pictou Event:
Vicki recieved this e-mail and sent it out. I am re-posting it here incase some did not get it.
Hi Vicki, Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner but was waiting for an update from the Hector Festival committee. We have decided after 25 years of running the festival to no longer put on this event. We are hoping that the Hector Quay will continue with some type of event and would hope that they continue to contact the 84th so they can be part of the celebration, whatever form it takes.
Please thank all members of the association for their participation and support over the past 25 years--it has been a great run. Take care--may see you all at some other events this summer. Darlene
